HEART CENTERED LIVING
By Myra

In my last
article, I talked about Brugh Joy’s passing in December 2009. He was my teacher and mentor for 30 years.
Working
with dreams was very important to Brugh. He
believed that “dreams are the royal road
to the unconscious” and that “most dreams serve your soul, instead of
your ego.”
I agree with Brugh,
that dreams ARE the
royal road to the unconscious. Do you want
to become more conscious? If so, you may
be interested in working with your dreams.
Begin working with your dreams by
setting the intention, before you go
to sleep, that you would like to remember your dream.
Have a pen and paper by your bed so you
can
write down what you remember as soon as you wake up.
In addition, it helps to write down what
your
feeling was about the dream. Soon you
will begin to see certain patterns emerging.
These patterns in your dreams often
indicate some pattern in your life
that you need to become more aware of. Every
dream is important, even when it does not seem to be.
Most of the time I hear people
discounting
their dreams, and say, “oh that is just a dream, it isn’t real” Remember, the purpose of working with
dreams
is to become more conscious and aware of what is happening in one’s
life.
In 1991, I
was attending a workshop in Paulden, AZ., which was called the
Teacher/Leader
workshop. Brugh was the teacher of this
workshop and spent a great deal of time working with dreams. During the workshop, I had a profound dream,
which I now call “Remember the Secret.” You
can read about the dream in my book, “Yes
I Will.” In this dream, I had lost my
purse. While I was busy looking for my
purse, everyone else was having a party.
Because I looked for my purse for a very
long time, everyone had gone
home by the time I actually found my purse and was ready to party. Then a beautiful woman appeared to me and
held her hand out. She looked like a
priestess. There were five doors with
large beautiful gold oriental doorknobs on each of the doors. She held her hand and directed energy to the
first door. The door opened and about10
children came out, walking toward the Source (God).
All of the children had blonde hair and
blue
eyes and were 8 - 9 years old. The
children looked like my grandson Joshua, and were his age, had he
survived. (He had died 5 years before
this dream, at the age of three.) Then
this woman directed energy (one at time), at each of the remaining four
doors. At each door, the same thing
happened; children who looked like Joshua came out and walked toward
the
Source.
At that
time of my life, I was going through identity changes.
The Stress Reduction and Learning Center
that I had helped start in the early 80’s, closed on the same weekend I
was in Arizona
at this
workshop. Losing my purse in the dream
clearly referred to me losing my identity at the Center.
That dream was 19 years ago. Over the years, I have had many new insights
into the significance of this dream. Each
time that new information came through, the insights were those that I
had not
seen earlier. The more that I studied
and grew spiritually, the more insights were revealed to me.
Some dreams
are prophetic allowing one to work years on their insights.Other
dreams, especially repeated dreams, are those that require action. Still other dreams are compensatory dreams,
healing
dreams, or “release” dreams. Always look
at what patterns are being revealed to you through your dreams, because
they reflect
where you are in your life. That is why
Brugh
said that dreams are the royal road to the unconscious.
Dreams are a way to become more
conscious. Dreams can make you aware that
changes need
to be made.
