As planning began for the opening of Heart Center, Myra knew that what would make it different and effective was a heart centered staff.  The facilitators program began in July 2005 and ran until to April 2009, when we moved back to our current location.  The Heart Center opened in August 2006 and continues to this day.  Various services such as music and workshops are provided.

Myra Tovey RNBS, CHTI/P, HNC

Myra is an RN with experience in surgery, family practice, and school nursing.  As one of the four founding nurses of Healing Touch, she has traveled extensively teaching various levels of the program, served on the Healing Touch International board for four years, and was chairperson of the Healing Touch International ethics committee for six years.

Myra is also a member of the AHNA, having served on the council for five years as North Central Regional Director and Secretary.

Myra has received two prestigious awards: honorary membership of Sigma Theta Tau and the Indiana School Nurse of the Year.

Currently, Myra teaches workshops and gives lectures on Heart Centered Living, holds classes in dream interpretation, and works with clients in private Healing Touch sessions. Myra has authored one CD, Meditations from the Heart and authored a book entitled, "Yes, I Will.”
